Food Is Not an Afterthought: Why What You Eat Becomes You
Food is foundational to life. So why do we treat it like it isn't?
In my 20s and 30s, I was career-driven and always on the go, never thinking about what to eat until I was already hungry. Now, in my 40s, I find myself making slow-cooked meals and running a business built around a slow-brewed drink. And I'm happy to report: my health is better than it's been in a long time. Alhamdulillah.
That shift didn't happen by accident. It came from a renewed understanding that food is fuel. What we eat shapes our focus, our energy, our vitality, and even our ability to show up for the people we love. How we treat our bodies through food creates the edge we're looking for in life.
A wise man once said: you can have 99 problems, but if you don't have your health, you really only have one.
Taste What Intention Feels Like →
This week, I food prepped again. Pasture-raised organic eggs and halal lamb, made into a lamb frittata: iron-rich, protein-rich, and made with intention during a calm moment, so it's ready for the rushed ones. That's the whole idea. Think ahead so you don't have to sacrifice your health when life speeds up.
What you eat becomes you. It's the difference between clarity and brain fog, between independence and reliance on a system that may not have all the answers, between being present with your family and being their biggest worry.
Your family loves you. Think ahead. Cook with good spices, make it with love, and have it ready when you need it. That's how I'm feeding myself this week, and that's the same intention behind Brooklyn Brewed Sorrel.
What's your vibe this week?

"I ordered a large bottle just to give it a try. Needless to say, it was gone in a matter of days... and I didn't share with anyone! I placed another order, this time for several bottles so now I don't have to worry about running out. Love it! Darlene E. |
" I placed my order and it was received in two days, along with a thank you email. Great customer service and an amazing product. Congratulations and praying for your continued success. Keep up the great work. Michelle A. |
