Day 2 of Kwanzaa: Kujichagulia (Self-determination)
Today is the 2nd day of Kwanzaa, the day of Kujichagulia (Self-Determination), which encourages us to define ourselves, name ourselves, create for ourselves and speak for ourselves.
This day is a call to express ourselves and be proud of who we are. We all have that hesitation and doubts about speaking up and doing that one thing. Fear sometimes stops us from achieving our goals.

When I first got the inkling to start Brooklyn Brewed Sorrel, there'd be lots of alcoholic drinks flowing as a sign of celebration and adulthood, and as a Muslim who doesn't drink alcohol most of us were left with… Ginger Ale! Embarrassing! Also, we didn’t feel included.
Order Brooklyn Brewed SorrelBrooklyn Brewed Sorrel went official in 2018 and it's been that Kujichagulia spirit that's carried us through moments of self-doubt, the pandemic, and all kinds of possible setbacks and hurdles.
We've got 5 more days to reflect on the principles of Kwanzaa; feel free to share this email with your friends and families so they too can be inspired by the values we can learn from it.
