Day 2 of Kwanzaa: Kujichagulia (Self-determination)
Today is the 2nd day Kwanzaa, the day of Kujichagulia (Self-Determination), which encourages us to define ourselves, name ourselves, create for ourselves and speak for ourselves.
This day is a call to express ourselves and be proud of who we are. We all have that hesitation and doubts about speaking up and doing that one thing. Fear sometimes stops us from achieving our goals.
When I first got the inkling to start Brooklyn Brewed Sorrel there'd be lots of alcoholic drinks flowing as a sign of celebration and adulthood, and as a Muslim who doesn't drink alcohol most of us were left with…. Ginger Ale! Embarrassing! Also, we didn’t feel included.
Brooklyn Brewed Sorrel went official in 2018 and it's been that Kujichagulia spirit that's carried us through moments of self-doubt, the pandemic, and all kinds of possible setbacks and hurdles.
We've got 5 more days to reflect on the principles of Kwanzaa, feel free to share this email with your friends and families so they too can be inspired by the values we can learn from it.
Never miss a toast with our authentic nonalcoholic Caribbean mocktail!

"I ordered a large bottle just to give it a try. Needless to say, it was gone in a matter of days... and I didn't share with anyone! I placed another order, this time for several bottles so now I don't have to worry about running out. Love it! Darlene E. |
" I placed my order and it was received in two days, along with a thank you email. Great customer service and an amazing product. Congratulations and praying for your continued success. Keep up the great work. Michelle A. |
