For me growing up going to events and parties was a bit intimidating. The word mocktail was hardly a concept. There were lots of alcoholic drinks flowing as a sign of celebration and adulthood and I was left with…. Ginger Ale! Embarrassing! Also, I didn’t feel included and I didn’t like standing out as a non-drinker.
