Our Juneteenth Popup Recap
I really felt liberated this Juneteenth weekend while putting a new idea out into the world and having it very well received. I decided to create the special Brooklyn Brewed Sorrel Juneteenth Freedom Mocktails live at our Brooklyn Brewed Sorrel Juneteenth Pop-up shop at Weeksville Heritage Center by Black-Owned Brooklyn that I’d been working on since March when we had our popup shop residency at Nordstrom NYC and the result was GLORIOUS!
Our booth had a consistent line for these BBS Mocktail mixers on Saturday, June 18th, 2022, and word must’ve gotten out about them because on Sunday, June 19th, 2022 the line was down the Weeksvile lawn. We had to restock supplies midday!
It makes me feel warm and fuzzy to bring new ideas to life & these 4 signature Brooklyn Brewed Sorrel Mocktail mixers that consisted of infusions were such a hit! Festival-goers had the opportunity to choose from any of the 4 infusions- Rosemary, ginger, lime, or lemon, and have a BBS Mocktail crafted for them on the spot or purchase the individual bottles. Many chose both!
I love, love, loved bringing my A-game to this event.
Our Freedom Mocktails were created in honor of Black Liberation and Economic Freedom. Creating economic security for ourselves, families and community is something that was stripped of us during slavery. This month of Juneteenth we celebrate the emergence of Black community as entrepreneurs and business leaders that close the racial wealth gap.
In line with that, This month, coach Rachel challenged me to earn 10K in 10 days. That means earning $10,000 in 10 days in order to scale our business and do more good in the world and would love to have your support in reaching our goal.
