The 15% pledge
In February 2022, Brooklyn Brewed Sorrel and seven other Black-owned brands took the main stage at Nordstrom NYC in collaboration with Black-Owned Brooklyn for an immersive shopping experience during Black history month.
This collaboration was significant to us as it opened more doors of opportunities. And just when we thought our Nordstrom scene ended there, we're delighted to continue to partner with Nordstrom multiple times and most recently be served at Nordstrom's Black Business Month party for all of their current and aspiring Black Owned and Founded brands.
We're proud to take part in Nordstrom's mission to include more and more quality Black-owned brands. They are one of several major retailers that signed a 10-year agreement with Fifteen Percent Pledge, a non-profit organization wherein retailers are encouraged to pledge at least 15 percent of their shelf space to Black-owned businesses. Nordstrom pledged to purchase 10x more goods from Black-owned companies by 2030 to create an equitable marketplace for Black-owned brands to thrive.
You can be a part of this movement too. Take a look at your own spending. What are you spending your money on? How diverse are the founders of the brands you use? And how many of these are Black owned and-founded businesses?
As an empowered consumer, you can make waves by pledging to take 15% of your money and spend it on Black-owned businesses’ and products. Before going out to purchase something, think of Black-owned shops and brands that sell what you tend to buy.
Never miss a toast with our authentic nonalcoholic Caribbean mocktail!

"I ordered a large bottle just to give it a try. Needless to say, it was gone in a matter of days... and I didn't share with anyone! I placed another order, this time for several bottles so now I don't have to worry about running out. Love it! Darlene E. |
" I placed my order and it was received in two days, along with a thank you email. Great customer service and an amazing product. Congratulations and praying for your continued success. Keep up the great work. Michelle A. |
