Every story has a beginning… this is ours.
Just months after my debut on Project Runway as the 1st Hijabi modest fashion designer, I was, to my dismay, back home in East Flatbush living with my parents. During this time I was disgruntled and questioning the direction of my life, until it became very clear to me that I needed a perspective shift and a heavy dose of gratitude. I needed to “Bloom where I was planted” (which were the words of inspiration that kept flowing through my mind) and also rediscover my roots.
So I took a walk…. No, I strolled through East Flatbush Brooklyn admiringly- which is something I’d rarely done- and I imagined again. I imagined and thought “what if there’s a beautiful and blessed reason for me to be here now and I can bloom here where I’m currently planted?"
And then I got thirsty, wanted some good Sorrel like my dad’s recipe, got my dad's recipe and simultaneously my new calling- a drink that connected me to my roots, would help people celebrate life instead of moping about it like I previously was and was made of hibiscus flowers! This is how I’d bloom where I was planted. And no it’s not lost on me that hibiscus flowers bloom!

Today, we’re starting a new journey and we need you to play your important role again.
As we’re growing and times have changed once again post-COVID we need to rise to the occasion of new challenges. During COVID we made a fast pivot that allowed us to continue to stand the test of time like our over 400-year recipe. Post-COVID has brought its new realities too like inflation spikes and wholesale/ retail demands. We must must level up to remain a viable business (hint: increase production to keep costs and our price to you in balance and beat the large inflation spikes + increase our distribution).
